Mikael Rydh, b 1972 in Uppsala, lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
Mikael’s images revolve around people, where the depicted faces often have a lingering, ambiguous expression that can awake wonder and concern. He usually works with a limited, dimmed color scale and he paints primarily in oil on wood panels.
Mikael, a professional musician with Hovkapellet, the Royal Swedish Opera Orchestra in Stockholm, also delves into graphic design, typography, and photography. His art has been showcased at Edsvik’s and Liljevalch’s salons, as well as in solo exhibitions at Vaxholm Town Hall and in Söderhamn.
